Chris Ware Never Wavers To the Win
Chris Ware keeps very good records of all the set ups and changes he made over the years his notes must have been very good as he never wavered all the way to the finish for his first win of the year. Heats kicked off the night with Ryan Price and Anthony Linkenhoker taking wins. Chris and Charlie Ware paced the field to feature green and they ran side by side for the first three laps before Chris inched ahead with Charlie up high and Daren Bolac in third. The smooth clay oval had cars running all over as they tried to work to the front and next to find their groove was Jerald Harris and Tom Humphries. Chris stayed strong as Charlie was beginning to fade as Bolac got by with Jerald going by next and Humphries in tow. With five to go a car broke bringing out the caution and bunching up the field and on the restart Jerald Harris made a strong move on the top getting around Bolac and on the bumper of Ware. Bolac fought back as Ware drove away to his first win of the year. Before the feature Chris inspected his RaceSaver Hoosier right rear tire saying he thought he had one more race in it before changing it out and he was correct as his eleventh feature on that tire was a winner. At the stripe it was Chris Ware, Daren Bolac, Jerald Harris, Tom Humphries, Anthony Linkenhoker, Ryan Price, Troy Severin, Mike Leraas, Mike Keeton, Tony Harris, Bill Rice, Neil Sandridge, Charlie Ware, French Grimes jr. and Brian Lawson. Next week it’s back to Shenandoah Speedway on Saturday night June 24th.
