Tony Harris wins VSS race at Dixieland Speedway
The second Fast Friday race of the year down by the shore is always a weather wonder and with the hot and humid days it brings on the threat of storms. Lightning was all around but Tony Harris showed he was quicker than the lighting and beat the storms to the checkered flag for his third win of the year. As the drivers meeting was taking place the sky’s looked mean with lighting everywhere and not far off so the track promoter agreed to scrap heat races. He also flipped his race line up to get the traveling sprinters to the feature first and with that Charlie Ware and Daren Bolac paced the field with the electric filed air flashing all around. Bolac shot to the lead and was trying to hide as he was being chased by Anthony Linkenhoker, Tony Harris. Bolac was on it but car problems started to creep in and at half way with Harris now in second Bolac got together with another car and ended his night. Tony Harris now paced the field with Troy Severin making it to second and Brian Lawson getting by Mike Leraas and Anthony Linkenhoker. Harris continued to lead as Severin was closing in but laps ran out and Tony Harris was a three time winner. At the line it was Tony Harris, Troy Severin, Brian Lawson, Mike Leraas, Anthony Linkenhoker, Chris Ware, Charlie Ware, Bill Rice, Mike Keeton, Daren Bolac and French Grimes jr. This next day it was off to Eastside Speedway for the second race of the weekend on Saturday night. Thank you for your support Jim Haines Virginia Sprint Series IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Series
