The PA Sprint Series returns to the quarter-mile Path Valley Speedway Park bullring Saturday, looking for more of the excitement fans enjoyed in last weekend’s race.

At that special Friday event, Doug Dodson led every lap to collect his first IMCA/RaceSaver victory, but he had to fight off intense challenges from Ryan Lynn and eventual runner-up Drew Ritchey to reach Victory Lane.

Dodson is expected to return this weekend, looking for two in a row, but he’ll have to beat last week’s pursuers, along with Zach Newlin, the all-time PASS victory leader at Path Valley with seven wins, plus a strong field of other contenders.

This weekend’s race is the 4th Annual Roy & Margaret McGee Memorial, honoring the founders of the speedway. Joining the PASS sprinters will be limited late models, 270 and 600cc micro sprints, 4-cylinder thunder cars and SCDRA 4-cylinder strictly stocks. Several special contingency awards have been added to the purse.

The raceday schedule is one hour earlier for this weekend’s show, with gates opening at 4:00 p.m. and warm-ups beginning at 6:00. Spectator admission remains $10, with pit gate admission $30 for members and $35 (including a one-time $5 fee) for non-members.

Next weekend brings one of PASS’s rare three-race schedules. Clinton County Motor Speedway has a RaceSaver/IMCA event co-sanctioned with the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series on Friday night, and PASS returns to Port Royal Speedway Saturday. Then on Sunday the series visits BAPS Motor Speedway to support the 410 sprints in another of that track’s special shows.
